Get prepared

• Decide whom you want to target. Are you looking to build a pipeline of referrals or for immediate hires?
• Common searches include runner-up candidates and candidates who declined. Consider going back a few years to gather a sizable number of contacts.
• Obtain access to the reports area of your Applicant Tracking System database.
• Export the contact data from your ATS into a spreadsheet format such as Excel.
• Format your list of professionals for upload. Your spreadsheet should be in CSV (comma-separated values) format with a first name, last name and email address for each contact. If you have any problems with this step, call Jobster Client Services: 1-888-611-5627.

• Import the ATS contact lists, assigning professionals to folders to keep them organized.
• Send targeted messages to these contacts. We recommend that your first message be a network invitation.
• Track your results. Consider doing a similar ATS export every quarter to keep great prospects engaged with your company.
